Let’s start the battle today by comparing these two phones’ display. The HTC U11 Plus features a 6-inch LCD display with the resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels and at the aspect ratio of 18:9. Its rival, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, on the other hand, sports a big 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with the resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. For the OS, the HTC device runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. On the contrary, the Korean flagship is currently working on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Hopefully, the smartphone is going to get its Android Oreo update soon.

Then, let’s move on to the hardware department. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 specs continue with either the Exynos 8895 Octa chipset or the Snapdragon 835 processor, depending on the regions. In terms of memory, the smartphone offers 6GB RAM and three expandable ROM choices: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. On the other hand, the HTC U11 Plus specs include the same Snapdragon 835 chipset along with two versions RAM and ROM (expandable): 4GB RAM/64GB ROM and 6GB RAM/128GB ROM On the battery front, the HTC U11 Plus battery is the clear winner with a 3930 mAh capacity, whereas the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 battery only measures 3300 mAh.

Speaking of the photography department, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 camera offers dual 12MP sensors at the rear and another 8MP shooter at the front for selfies. On the other hand, the HTC U11 Plus camera will pack a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and dual LED flash, and an 8MP front-facing camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 price starts at Rs. 67900 (about $1046). On a different note, the HTC U11 Plus price is not official yet, nevertheless, the HTC U11 Plus release date is on November 2.
